Drawing inspiration from 80’s Paranoid Funk and more electronic elements flirting with progressive R&B, DVNO and pianist / producer Mattias Mimoun unveil a genre bending track. Pretty much Like Hall and Oates or Toro y Moi, they’re jokingly revisiting the dilemmas of dating someone out of your league. The song entitled Centerfold (Out July 27) is effortlessly groovy and built around a sample that’s reminiscent of early French Touch combined with finessing hip hop percussions. The bold lyricism and vocals harmonies are merging with synth solo bravado and echoing bed room pop with complex and conflicting emotions. « A girl like you on my side makes me feel suicidal » The artwork says it all and portrays the two man band in an awkward but delightful intimacy. Forever poking fun at their own clichés !
